I would like to have been able to see photographs of the stained glass
windows - as a babe in my mothers arms we are depictured in a family scene
in one window over the alyer

I would also liked to have seen the times of when the church was 'unlocked'
and was open to the public for viewing as one day I took a friend there
only t find it was 'locked'

Lynda - the key to St Clements church is available at the parish office,
and Philip Cole is the artist of the East window you mention. I wrote a
booklet about him which is available at the Old Hastings Preservation
society and at John's Place museum.
I would love to hear from you as I have before appealed to local people
about the portraits in St Clements East window as part of my research and
my family history. Philip and Elsie, his wife, are there too.
